The Giver by Lois Lowry wants some new chapter names instead of numbers like the ones he has now so I am here to give it to him.
One - complex feelings
I believe that this would be a good chapter heading because the chapter was all about the feelings of the family. It is also about Jonas complex feelings about something in December.
Two- The coming of December.
This is a good title because Jonas and his family were talking about Ceremony in December and how it will be fine when it comes.
Three - The Changing Apple
The biggest part about this chapter was about an apple that Jonas and his friend were tossing around that would change in mid air. This was only noticeable by Jonas.
Four- The Release
This chapter talked about when the elderly were release from care. They don't know where they go.
Five- The Stirring
Jonas has a "stirring" feeling for his friend Fiona and he had to take a pill to make the feelings stop.
Six- The Waiting
Jonas is waiting to get his future job but he has to watch the other ceremonies first. He is excited for it.
Seven- The Skip
Jonas was waiting to be called up but he was skipped over and he doesn't know why. He is getting very nervous.
Eight- The Receiver
Jonas has been selected to be the Receiver of Memory which is apparently an important job.
Nine- The Instructions
The instruction for Jonas training was the most important thing in this section. The most notable one was not to lie
Ten- The Meeting
This is the first meeting between Jonas and the Old Receiver of Memory.
Eleven- The Weather
The Giver gave Jonas memories of snow, sunshine, and sunburn. There is weather control were they live so they don't have those things
Twelve- Red
Jonas is experiencing the color red. He didn't see color before because long ago they wanted everything to be the same so they got rid of color.
Thirteen- The New Life
Jonas is becoming use to the life of the Receiver of Memory but it is still a very hard and lonely life to live.
Fourteen- The Choices
Jonas becomes angry about how the government took away choices in peoples lives but he still believes that people could also make the wrong choice so it should be chosen for them.
Fifteen- The Horrors of Memories
The Giver was in much pain of a certain memory so Jonas took it away from him. This was a very bad memory of war.
Sixteen- Love
When the memory of a Christmas day is given to Jonas he realizes the importance of family and love. When he asked his mother and father if they loved him they didn't understand love.
Seventeen - The Loss of Childhood
When a game of war is being played a bad memory of war comes and Jonas realizes how different he is from everyone else. He has lost is childhood
Eighteen- Rosemary
The Giver talked about the past Receiver who was named Rosemary. She couldn't handle all of the pain.
Nineteen- The Secrets of Release
The rules are that when twins are born one must be release but Jonas didn't know what happened when people were release. The Giver showed him the baby being release but by doing that he found out that they killed them.
Twenty- The Plan
When the Receiver leaves all the memories are given to the people and Jonas wants to give them these memories so he made a plan with the giver.
Twenty one- The Escape
Jonas left his town with Gabe and now they are running away from their home.
Twenty two- The Survival
Jonas and Gab are running out of food and they are lost
Twenty three- The End
It is the end of the story and Jonas and Gab make it to another town. They are now human.

ReplyDeleteI don't think its definite whether Jonas and Gabe make it to another town tho.
Jonas is a character in the third book messenger. So it is definite that he made it.
DeleteJonas is a character in the third book messenger. So it is definite that he made it.
DeleteThe third book messenger has Joans as a secondary character so he definitely made it to the town.
